One of the main things most people know about Mongolia is the fact that the country is massive.

It's almost impossible to grasp how big and empty of human touch it is. The vast expanses of all the beauties only nature can offer are unprecedented in Mongolia. The country is the 18th largest in the world, right after Iran.

To fully grasp and understand how large Mongolia is and how much natural beauty it offers, it's best to compare it to the U.S. In terms of land, Mongolia is some six times smaller than the U.S., yet it has 100 times fewer people.

However, we all know that it's quality that matters, not quantity. And for their lack of numbers, Mongolians usually compensate through their openness to tourists of all interests. So, if you're interested in being one of those tourists, you certainly want to know how long you should stay to experience all that the country has to offer. Let’s see what the answer is:

How Long to Stay in Mongolia

Due to the sheer vastness and the richness of culture you can experience, how long you should stay in Mongolia depends on what you want to see and how long you want the experiences to last. In essence, it all depends on personal preferences.

However, if you genuinely want to experience all there is, staying for at least a whole week is the bare minimum. Naturally, the bare minimum should satisfy everyone who wants to experience as much as Mongolia has to offer but doesn't have a lot of time. If work or some other personal problems are preventing you, or if you simply don't want to spend more than a week or so on vacation, you can still experience all of Mongolia.

The many Mongolian tours you can choose from often make sure to include as much as possible and combine several experiences to accommodate people who don’t have a lot of free time.

However, for those willing and able to stay longer, we suggest you spend at least two weeks in Mongolia. Also, if you don’t know where to start, 2-week tours offer you a specific itinerary designed to ensure you experience everything Mongolia has to offer.

For nature-lovers and adventurers who are more interested in a slow, detailed experience, we suggest you take things easy by going on a month-long trip to Mongolia. A whole month in the country will ensure you get to see all the beautiful and unique landscapes and to experience everything the people of Mongolia are eager to show you.

The Bottom Line

Whatever your interests are and no matter the amount of time you have, you can still get to experience all of Mongolia in various ways. If you lack the time to plan everything out, the tours Discover Mongolia provides will keep you plenty busy during your trip. And if you want to experience all of Mongolia for a much longer time, feel free to contact us to learn how you can do it!
