How it began

The experience left me confused...with a heavy heart. While I took pride and pleasure in sharing my country with the visitors, I was saddened by all they missed in their pursuit of the beast. There is so much more to Mongolia! That day, my dream was born—my dream of creating a com...

As of May 12 2021, there are 464 confirmed new cases of Covid-19, which is the lowest since April 3, 2021; while the total number of infected cases stands at 45,936, with 190 being the death toll. This could have been the resultant effect of the recent month-long lockdown and mass vaccination. For instance, ever since the mass vaccination program was launched on 23 February 2021. There are 1,712,577 people (82.8% of adults) who have received the first dose and 634,652 people (30%) have received the second dose of the vaccine.

Mongolia is currently vaccinating faster than any other country, through its administration of a daily average dosage of 3430 per 100,000 people in the past 7 days. The government plans to vaccinate all the 2.06 million adults above 18 years of age by July 01, 2021. Information about the vaccination, such as the name of the vaccine, country of manufacture, date, and locations of vaccination are readily available on the E-Mongolia platform, for citizens, entities, and organizations.

The Mongolian government has downgraded the Red alert to Orange, as of 8 May 2021, which suggests that the transmission of the virus has moved from community to cluster. This is a pointer to the fact that the restriction of movement within Ulaanbaatar has been lifted, and most shops and services can now open. However, as for international commercial flights, passenger vehicular movement and passenger rail in and out of Mongolia are suspended till June 2021. Other activities that could warrant the gathering of people, such as schools, social and entertainment events, places of worship, and many others within Mongolia will remain fully or partially restricted.

Mongolia will be open for tourism from July 01, 2021. The biggest and the most colorful event, the Naadam festival would be held on July 11-13 2021, according to Ganzorig Ts, the head of PR of the Mongolian government. Anyone who had gotten the double shots of the vaccine could plan ahead with Discover Mongolia Travel. We are looking forward to showing you the best of Mongolia.
