Our group of 9 active and experienced travellers (aged 49-70) were in agreement - the thoughtful itinerary, vast and exotic landscapes, visits with local herders, and to hot springs, historical and cultural sites were all amazing and stimulating. The food, and staying in traditional gers - surprising and good. Being in Kharakhorum for an authentic Naadam Festival was the highlight, enhanced by our informed, passionate, caring and fun guide who made every moment of Naadam and Mongolia so special. His participation in the wrestling competition was stunning - a formidable archer too! 'Jack' is the model guide for savvy travellers. No detail was too small for his attention - dietary needs, comfort in the vehicle, bottled water, finding an ATM, assisting with bargaining for purchases etc. He added extra activities and cultural events, supplemented museum guides' commentary, and was always punctual, despite some long days and early starts. A great ambassador for his beloved country and the Energizer Bunny, all in one. Our drivers matched his skill and kindness - 3,600 km - most of it on some rough and elusive 'roads'. We chose Discover Mongolia for the itinerary and highly recommend them for that as well as the extraordinary experiences, professionalism of our guide and drivers who always went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment of this magnificent country. We signed up for this tour because we wanted more than just a tourist experience. We stayed with a nomad family for 2 nights and participated in their daily routine. We also did the tourist stuff--museums, tourist ger camps, camel ride, but what we will remember most is the family. Building a ger, fetching water, milking cows, making dried cheese curds, herding goats and sheep, riding horses, shearing sheep, playing ankle bone games. The boys even put together a basketball hoop! Our guide, Oyunaa, and driver, Baagii, were better than we could have hoped for! Oyunaa's english is excellent and she is very knowledgeable about nomadic life as well as Mongolian history and the other sites we visited on the tour. She is also very patient with "needy" tourists. Baagii knew exactly which dirt roads to take without any GPS, and he knew almost everyone we ran into--even 3 hours outside of UB! He has a good sense of humor and a wide variety of skills. Twice during the tour, one of our tour mates wanted to do something that wasn't on the schedule, and Oyunaa was able to make it happen. When we were looking for yaks, Oyunaa asked at our ger camp and the owner jumped in the van to show us to a herding family. Nobody was home, and this guy on a motorcycle got in the van and showed us where the herd was. The people we came across were always so friendly and willing to go above and beyond to give us a good experience. We hope to go back someday, and will definitely use Discover Mongolia. Hopefully Oyunaa and Baagii will still be with them!

Discover Mongolia did a great job scheduling our daily activities so that we weren't active in the heat of the day. We definitely got off the beaten path, but we were kept safe and comfortable. The experiences were authentic and it was very meaningful to meet Mongolian people and observe their festivals and way of life.

We returned two days ago after our 15 day customized Mongolia tour organized by Discover Mongolia Tour Company. We thank Discover Mongolia for providing us with comfortable GER camps, good vehicles and a variety of activities and we will definitely recommend your company to our friends and colleagues. We had a fantastic adventure and a memorable time in stunningly beautiful country with breathtaking scenery. We loved Mongolia with its uniquely diverse topography, panoramic views, pristine lakes, colorful wildlife, as well as rich history and culture. We'll long remember camel riding in the Gobi desert, as well as, riding horseback while viewing the purest lake in the world, visiting museums and learning about Chinggis Khan and his legacy, dinosaur excavation sights, and remote monasteries, experiencing sleeping in gers along the way and enjoying Mongolian beer and delicious cuisine! Our guide Altantogos was very personable, friendly, and professional in organizing varied activities and was flexible in adapting our schedules according to changing weather conditions. Otogonbaatar was our driver who was excellent excellent with utmost professionalism, and a great personality, who not only drove us safely and skillfully through swollen streams particularly on the day of heavy rain, but always kept the vehicle washed and cleaned at the end of each day when other parked vehicles of some tour companies remained covered with dust. He always assisted us in getting out of the vehicle, with the cutest smile on his face. He was an exemplary driver. We made lasting friendships with Tagasoo and Ottgo and miss them already.
