We signed up for the Discover Mongolia two week tour. From the first e-mail contact to the end of our trip communication with Oyunaa was excellent. There was always clarity and responsiveness throughout the process.
The first day we met our traveling companions for the next two weeks and they turned out to be fantastic companions and relaxing to be with you. We started with a local guide in UB and had a tour of the city. Her English was excellent and her knowledge was terrific about her community and country.
The next day we took our scheduled flight to Maron and began an exceptional adventure.
Upon arrival our guide for the next 12 days Khishig and driver Zergoo met us the airport.
These two people were so competent. Our guides English was superlative and Zergoo's driving was unbelievable . These two people had an uncanny ability to be insightful as to our needs and responsive to our request.
The scenery in this country is just magnificent .Their way of life is something to behold and Discover Mongolia does everything in its power to make you understand every aspect of life in Mongolia. The aspect of the trip that really grabs you is the warmth of the Mongolian people and our guide and driver were catalyst in seeing that we experienced this. The gers were comfortable and clean as were the bathrooms. Our biggest concern on heading for Mongolia was a concern about the food.We did not experience a meal we did not like. Our Australian traveling companions were vegetarians and were more than satisfied with the food.
I would suggest to anyone looking for a special adventure to contact Oyunaa at Discover Mongolia. You will not be disappointed and Mongolia will leave an indelible impression on you.

I had a short, 3 day trip to Mongolia in mid March 2018. I stayed at the discover mongolia guest house. being the off season I had the entire place to myself. On the second day I was told about the various tours they had on offer and picked this one as it worked out best for my short stay. It was absolutely fantastic. My guide and driver was named Bat, and he was incredibly knowledgeable about the surroundings and sites we visited. So much so that even the seemingly desolate landscapes had interesting histories.
Sleeping in a ger was splendid; the lack of light pollution and being able to see so many stars. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you are short on time.
My only complaint is the location of the office. It is just a bit odd. there is a sign but you have to go down to the basement and through a hair salon. Nothing wrong with it, just odd.
If I ever have the opportunity, I would very much like to do this tour with a couple friends. Solo was good, but a group would have been a blast.

We were a couple, headed to Mongolia for our honeymoon trip. Discover Mongolia made our trip a very special one. Communication and confirmation prior to arrival was prompt and accurate, and our guide Tamir and driver Dashka was already waiting for us at the train station when our train pulled in. The next 12 days were nothing but amazing and breathtaking. We experienced the eternal blue sky, the cold nights with the warming fire in our gers, the nomadic lifestyle and their nermel, the setting up of a ger with the locals, the annual Naadam festival with local airag, the hot Gobi dinosaur land, and most importantly, the Mongolian culture and their hospitality. Our guide, even though young, was very experienced with our very knowledgeable driver, who has the map of unmarked roads in his mind.
All in all, if you are looking for a fuss-free trip to experience all of Mongolia, approach them.

There are many ways to travel Mongolia, I chose Discover Mongolia and after touring Mongolia with them, I highly recommend it for several reasons:
Reason A: 98% of the trip is done overland with the least number of flights.
I chose to visit most places overland with the least number of flights possible.
Therefore, I chose Discover Mongolia, because its 14-day itinerary would take to all major attractions in central Mongolia overland with only two flights at the beginning and the end. Some travel companies would 1) flight you to Gobi, then take you back to Ulaan Baataar, 2) fly you to Karakorum and fly back to Ulaan Baataar, and 3) fly you to Murun to see Huvsgul Lake and fly back to Ulaan Baataar. To me, that's too many flying.
Some travel agencies don't offer a tour that will hit these major places in one shot overland. It's either combination of 1 & 2, or 1&3.
Only Discover Mongolia offers this complete itinerary
Reason B: Reasonable price and responsive sales advisor.
I worked with Oyunaa and she provides timely responses.
She also came with the driver to pick me up in early morning of 1am to welcome me to Mongolia.
Reason C: Great tour guides and highly skilled drivers.
My tour director, Jack, is excellent. He's knowledgeable and very passionate in introducing his country to us. There is never a dull moment with Jack.
Our driver is also experienced and skilled. In Mongolia, you really need an exceptional driver to maneuver through all terrains without having a flat tire or car break down. The vehicle is 4x4 SUV that it could go on any surface (rocky, rugged, and bumpy) as well as crossing the river. The driver also needs to know the road and direction. In Mongolia, when you are out in the rural area, there is no signs, no paved road, no direction, especially in a wide open field where you see no ends. Therefore, having a skilled and experienced driver is critical. Discover Mongolia's drivers are excellent.
Reason C: Discover Mongolia takes care of you. There is someone in our group got injured in south Gobi, Discover Mongolia staff not only took him to the hospital to get immediate treatment, but also hired a driver to take him back to Ulaan Baataar to receive a better medical attention. They followed through until this person was released from the hospital and hired another driver to take him to rejoin the group.
Discover Mongolia is professional, courteous, and detail-oriented. I had a great time in Mongolia.
Some words about traveling to Mongolia:
* Even though there are good guides and drivers in Mongolia, but I still would not encourage anyone to travel there if you have health issues, or spinal pains, or back pains, or osteoporosis. The bumpy roads could make it worse and only good hospital is in Ulaan Bataar, if you are injured, not only you must drive hours in bumpy road to the nearest airport and then fly to Ulan Baataar, but also there might be only one flight a day or several flights a week. You must be physically super fit and also be ready for some "discomfort" such as bumpy/rocky car rides and sometimes with dust flying, as well as shared bathrooms in ger camps. The toilets and showers are clean. But if you are not used to sharing, Mongolia may not be a good travel destination for you.
