The 90,000 hectare Hustain Huruu National Park, set 60 miles southwest of Ulaanbaatar, is home to the World's only naturally surviving wild horse. The Przewalski horse (or takhi in Mongolian) has been successfully reintroduced into the wild and has a light yellow coat and a short, stiff black mane. Each horse is approximately 250cm long, 146cm tall and weighs on average 300kg.
Trip itinerary
Day 1. Ulaanbaatar - Hustai Nuruu National Park
After meeting in ULN, we will drive to the west 95 km (60 miles) to reach the National Park Hustai Nuruu. We will explore the extraordinary spot, where the Asian wild horse grazes, having been reintroduced from Holland in framework of an international project. After lunch in the park we will visit a local horseman’s family. There you can experience their way of life, their culture and traditions. (L+D)
Day 2. Hustai Nuruu - Ulaanbaatar
After breakfast, you can walk around exploring natural landscape and wildlife – a great place for photos. After lunch, we will drive back to Ulaanbaatar and end the trip or Go on next trip. (B+L)
