Mongolian National Parks Tour 16 - Days
Altai Mountains is the highest of three major mountain ranges in Mongolia, straddling the Russian and Chinese frontiers in the Far West. Mountains of eternal snowcapped mountains and glaciers. In these remote regions live many nomads of ethnic minorities. The Kazakhs are Muslims, and speak an ancient Kazakh language, as well as Tuvans, who are Buddhist and shamanistic. This dramatic journey will bring us to Mongolia's highest mountain region.

Terelj National Park is the most popular destination and the third biggest protected area in Mongolia . Visitors can take leisurely strolls on meadows carpeted with edelweiss and a dazzling variety of other wild flowers, view fascinating rock formations against a backdrop of pine covered mountains and wander along the wooded banks of a mountain stream.

The 90,000 hectare Hustain Huruu National Park, set 60 miles southwest of Ulaanbaatar, is home to the world's only naturally surviving wild horse. The Przewalski horse (or takhi in Mongolian) has been successfully reintroduced into the wild and has a light yellow coat and a short, stiff black mane. Each horse is approximately 250cm long, 146cm tall and weighs on average 300kg.

Lake Huvsgul is Mongolia's largest and deepest lake. Located in the northernmost province, it is the largest tributary stream of Lake Baikal in Russia. 96 rivers and streams flow out of Huvsgul, among them the Egiin River, which then joins the Selenge along its eventual path to Lake Baikal Lake Huvsgul is 136 km long, water beneath 100 meters & 36 km wide, 262 meters deep and is located at an altitude of 1645 m above sea level.

We have now returned to Australia after the most wonderful holiday in Mongolia
Thank you for our delightful short travel in Mongolia. Anthony Man from Canada. (2012 Sep)

"Hello Oyuna,
The Discover Mongolia trip by Discover Mongolia Expedition between August 23 and September 3, 2012 was excellent and the service provided was way above my expectation. The tour guide Mir and the driver Dovchin were professional, competent and very friendly. Mir was always having fun herself too and she played two roles at the same time; your dream tour guide and your best travel mate. Dovchin, though speaking little English, proved himself to be one of the best drivers on off road conditions. He handled the mountain and desert paths with unbelievable skill and made the 2,500 Km. + journey exciting but safe; bumpy but enjoyable. The 4x4 was in top condition and Dovchin always kept it clean. The tour itinerary on the confirmation sheet had been well planned and was fully accomplished. The two city guides and the driver also proved themselves to be competent, although they had only one or two days to impress us. I think Mongolia has been underrated a bit, as this is one of the most beautiful countries on this planet in my 18 years of full time travelling, especially for nature lovers and photographers. I have no hesitation to recommend Discover Mongolia to anyone who is interested in Mongolia and the Mongolian cultures. I will be pleased to share such unforgettable experience with you to ensure you will have a good time in Mongolia too.

"Dear Mr. Tuvshinbat,
My daughter and I have safely returned home after an excellent time spent in Mongolia. Discover Mongolia Travel We have been impressed with the professionalism of your organization. Your website is excellent; the people we have dealt with have been of great help, on time and friendly. We will recommend your organization to anyone interested in visiting Mongolia. We were impressed with the professionalism and maturity of our 19 year old guide Lagshimi. She did an excellent job. We also very much enjoyed Terelj National Park tour with Bayarjargal as a guide. She is an extremely competent and joyful person whom we appreciated very much. Both the Chinggis Khan Statue and the Live Museum are very interesting sites that we would not have wanted to miss. It was a very enjoyable and interesting day. "
