Mongolia Buddhist Monasteries tour 8 - Days

Buddhism was declared Mongolia's national religion in the 13th century and has been widespread since the 1600s. By 1900, there were 583 monasteries and temples and a trip around some of them can be considered the perfect introduction to Tibetan Buddhism. Among the wonderful monasteries on this tour is Erdene Zuu, built in the 1580s on the site of the ancient imperial capital. One of the oldest monasteries in Mongolia, in its prime there were 10,000 lamas in residence and nearly 60 temples. By the end of the Stalinist purges in the 1930s, however, all but 4 of these temples had been destroyed. You will see the lamas chanting and receive Buddhist empowerments as well as having the opportunity to view the temple's museum complex.

Thank you for our delightful short travel in Mongolia. Most sincerely, Lisa Pearl from USA. 2011 Sep

"Dear Oyunaa,
We had a lovely tour with Dawa and Nanida. We enjoyed every minute of their company. Dawa was very knowledgeable and gave us a meaningful appreciation for Mongolian history, culture, and land. I wonder if you could pass along this email to her because I never got to thank her in person. I got rushed into our hotel to confirm our reservation. "

"Dear Oyunaa,
Now that things have calmed down a little since returning home, I wanted to thank you for your patience and assistance in organizing my recent tour of Mongolia. It was an excellent experience, and an amazing country to spend some time in learning about the people and the culture. I would also like to pass on my thanks to both Lagshmi and Dovchin. They are both wonderful people, took too good care of me and helped make the experience extra special. Please pass my thanks onto them. While it may be a long time off, I look forward to visiting Mongolia again in the future. When that happens, I will definitely look for Discover Mongolia's assistance again. Please keep my information on hand if anyone is requesting referrals. "

"Dear Tuvshinbat,
We are working a lot since we came back from Mongolia, so we don't have time even to see all the amazing photos we made there. Anyway we would like to thank you one more time for everything you did for us, and for wonderful time you helped us to have in you're country. It was unique experience, Mongolia is a beautiful place, one of the best holidays we had so far, and we would definitely like to visit it again and see and learn more. We are a big commercial for you, and i hope more people will come and share our experience.

And we would also like to express our gratitude for the two lovely people we meet at the station, and whiteout whom we will be probably lost in the mountain or at the black market. :) Ms. Boloroo and you're friend Mr. Sugar are excellent guides and friends.

I hope we will be back and next time we'll meet you as well, and we wish you all the best.

Best regards,"
