Full itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and City tour

After arriving in Ulaanbaatar, You'll be greeted at the airport and escorted to your hotel. City sightseeing tour including a visit Gandan Monastery with its huge gold plated Buddha, a symbol of Mongolian national pride and cultural revival. See the monks chanting, spin some prayer wheels and view the intricately embroidered thanks. The next spot will be Sukhbaatar square, where all central departments including Government house situated on. Lunch in restaurant. Then, an excursion to the Zaisan Hill War Memorial to get bearings with a panoramic view of the whole city. Overnight in the hotel. (L+D)


Day 2

Fly to Murun and drive to Huvsgul National park

Early morning fly to the capital of the Huvsgul province, Murun. The flight takes one and a half hours, and on arrival at the airstrip in the Murun. Discover Mongolia team will be waiting for you, who will take you to Huvsgul lake National Park, will meet you. Overnight in tourist camp. (B+L+D)

Trekking and fishing days

The days you have opportunity to trek to the lakeside & mountain for exploring, taking pictures, enjoy wildlife, flora & fauna of Huvsgul lake area.

Your guide, a local horseman, will accompany you, giving you the chance to discover the life and food of a nomadic family and horsemen during the tour. Dinner is real authentic Mongolian barbecue, prepared in the traditional style with hot stones. Overnight in tent. (B+L+D)


Day 8

Take a boat tour local reindeer photo

Today we take a boat tour and local reindeer photo in the deep taiga forest. You have a chance to ride on the back of the reindeer for taking your memorable picture. Overnight in tourist camp. (B+L+D)


Day 9

Drive to Murun and Ulaanbaatar city tour

Up early you will be driven back to Murun with your guide for your return flight to Ulaanbaatar. Take a city tour including a visit to the dinosaur exhibitions hall at the Natural History Museum and Bogd Khan Palace, a series of beautiful traditional buildings where the last religious King of Mongolia resided. During this city tour you will be taken to souvenir and cashmere shops before enjoying an evening concert of National Folklore. Overnight in the hotel. (B+L+D)

Departure from Mongolia.

You will be transferred from your hotel to the airport. (B)

The best time to make this trip:

May to September is the best season, with the peak season in July for the Naadam Festival. July and August are also the wettest months of the year, but be assured; our climate is such that you will still have many sunny days at this time.

Transport:

Discover Mongolia use the highest level, latest model, air-conditioned private vans or 4WD vehicles for the maximum comfort on your touring days. A day's drive in the countryside will be approx 200-250km.

Meals:

In Ulaanbaatar, you will be dining at fine European and Asian cuisine restaurants. Mutton, beef, rice and noodles form the basis of the Mongolian diet, so your meals will be based around this.
